Hello Owen,
When you make a purchase and then decide you will request a refund - maybe because the product is dysfunctional or it isn’t what you expected -, most companies will let issue it as soon as you decide it, if your product is eligible for it. However, once the refund is requested to the credit card you made the payment with, the full amount of it will appear on your balance within 5 to 7 business days after processing.
If it still shows as a charge after 7 business days, the best way to know the status of the refund is by contacting your credit card company. Take into consideration that if it has been a week since your refund was issued, you might have to wait 2 more days in order to have waited the right time that most credit card takes. Every company works differently and they issue refunds differently.
Remember that international refunds will be processed wirely, which means that might take longer than national transactions. These refunds can take up to 2 weeks. Again, regardless if your refund is national or international, we would recommend you to call or email your issuer to make sure the refund is being processed.
